Tool Friday #7 — Senja: Testimonials on Autopilot
I launched a free GTM course on academy.stratega.co.
Students started completing modules. Some sent nice messages. But none of that was visible to new visitors.
The landing page had zero social proof. No reviews, no testimonials, no “here’s what other students say.” Just my word that the course was worth their time.
I needed a system that would collect feedback and display it — without me manually copying quotes into HTML every time someone said something nice.
What is Senja and how does it work?
Senja is a testimonial collection and display tool that creates review forms, collects feedback without requiring reviewer logins, and generates embeddable widgets that auto-update on your site.
Senja is a testimonial collection and display tool. The entire flow:
- Create a review form — customize the questions, choose text or video or both.
- Share the link — drop it in a completion email, a thank you page, or a direct message.
- Reviews come in — no login required for the reviewer. They click, they write, they submit.
- Display anywhere — Senja generates embeddable widgets that update automatically.
That last part is the key. New review comes in, it shows up on your site. No code changes. No manual updates. No “remind me to add that testimonial later.”
My setup
Here’s exactly how I wired it:
- Student completes the course on academy.stratega.co
- The completion email includes a Senja review link
- Review appears on the Academy landing page automatically
4 reviews in the first week. I didn’t chase a single one.
The form took 10 minutes to set up. The embed took 5. Total investment: 15 minutes for a system that runs forever.
The display options
This is where Senja gets interesting. You’re not just collecting reviews into a spreadsheet. You get:
| Widget | What it looks like | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Wall of Love | Grid of all testimonials | Landing pages, dedicated social proof sections |
| Carousel | Rotating single testimonials | Hero sections, above the fold |
| Single card | One highlighted review | Email signatures, specific pages |
| Badge | Average rating + count | Headers, navigation bars |
All embeddable. All auto-updating. All customizable to match your brand.
Where it shines
- Course creators and educators — the completion-to-review pipeline is natural. Student finishes, student reviews. No awkward ask.
- SaaS founders — embed a Wall of Love on your landing page in 5 minutes. Instant social proof.
- Freelancers and consultants — build a portfolio of client feedback without the “hey, would you mind writing a testimonial?” email you never send.
- Anyone selling online with zero reviews on their page — this is the fastest fix.
What are Senja’s limitations?
- High-volume e-commerce — not built for hundreds of product reviews per SKU. Use Trustpilot or similar.
- Anonymous feedback — Senja is about real, attributable testimonials with names and faces. If you need anonymous surveys, use Typeform.
- Complex survey workflows — it’s testimonials, not a research tool. Keep it simple.
How much does Senja cost?
Senja is free for up to 15 testimonials with 1 form and basic widgets. The paid plan at $29/month gives you unlimited everything — forms, testimonials, widgets, and integrations.
| Plan | Cost | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Up to 15 testimonials, 1 form, basic widgets. Enough to start. |
| Paid | $29/month | Unlimited forms, testimonials, widgets, and integrations. |
No hidden limits on the free tier that force you to upgrade after 3 reviews. You can genuinely run this for free until you outgrow it. Refreshing in a world where “free tier” usually means “trial with extra steps.”
Alternatives
| Tool | Best for | How it compares |
|---|---|---|
| Testimonial.to | Video-first testimonials | Better video features, but pricier and more complex. |
| Trustpilot | E-commerce product reviews | Industry standard for high-volume review collection. Overkill for courses and services. |
| Google Forms + manual embed | Budget zero, time infinite | Free but you’re copying and pasting forever. Senja automates what you’d do manually. |
| Screenshot + Canva | One-off social proof posts | Works for social media. Doesn’t scale. Doesn’t auto-update. |
The verdict
Senja is the fastest path from “zero social proof” to “Wall of Love on your landing page.”
15 minutes of setup. Auto-updating widgets that match your brand. Reviews come in without chasing anyone.
If you sell anything online — a course, a SaaS, a service — and your landing page has no testimonials, start here. The free tier is honest, the UX is clean, and the whole thing just works.
The best testimonial tool is the one you actually set up. Senja made that part trivially easy.
Score: 8.5/10
The half-point off: widget customization could go deeper (font control, animation options). For text testimonials and standard display — which is 90% of what most people need — it’s excellent.
